Focus sur Athea, la société commune à Atos et Thales qui doit développer un logiciel souverain pour l'analyse de données

Les Echos se penchent sur le contexte entourant la création d'Athea, la société commune à Thales et Atos visant à développer une plateforme souveraine associant traitement de données massives et intelligence artificielle pour les secteurs de la défense, du renseignement et de la sécurité intérieure, dont le lancement a été annoncé la semaine dernière dans le cadre du programme technologique de la direction générale de l'armement (DGA). Destinée à développer un logiciel souverain dont les états-majors auront la pleine maîtrise, Athea a vocation à devenir un champion européen de l'analyse de données en grandes quantités (Big Data) pour les armées et le renseignement, capable de rivaliser avec l'américain Palantir. « Nous avons énormément de projets à venir car l'intelligence artificielle permise par l'analyse de grandes quantités de données est de plus en plus utile pour les militaires, que ce soit pour le renseignement, la cybersécurité ou la logistique des forces armées », souligne Marc Darmon, le directeur général adjoint de Thales. « Notre ambition est d'être l'outil qui réponde aux besoins techniques des programmes de défense et de sécurité », précise-t-il.

    Pentagon awards $734.8M to Boeing, Raytheon for support of Qatar's F-15s

    By Christen McCurdy Nov. 10 (UPI) -- The Pentagon this week awarded two contracts totaling $734.8 million for infrastructure and equipment for the Qatar Emiri Air Force. The larger of the two deals, announced on Monday, is a $657.2 million contract for Qatar's F-15 program. Per this week's deal, Boeing will provide sparing and support for the F-15QA aircraft once they are delivered to Qatar, as well as logistical support and administrative costs. Boeing is contracted to deliver 36 F-15QA aircraft to Qatar, with the first arriving in 2021. The U.S. Air Force announced in October that it is working with the QEAF to prepare for the aircraft's arrival. A Tuesday press release from the contractor announced the deal along with two other recent contracts to support the QEAF: a previously unannounced $240 million, five-year contract for F-15QA program management, and a $68 million contract announced in April to provide maintenance and logistics support for the QEAF during their pre-delivery training for the F-15QA. "The tailored training and sustainment delivered by our team, coupled with Boeing's platform expertise, allows us to deliver a holistic solution to our Qatari customer so they can optimize the full capability of their fleet with high availability rates," said Tim Buerk, director of Middle East defense services for Boeing. "We look forward to our continued partnership with Qatar and further supporting their mission readiness needs," Buerk said. Under the second deal, valued at $77.6 million, Raytheon will upgrade the Qatar Air Operations Center. That includes the procurement and installation of hardware and software, as well as testing, end-user training and help desk support.     Lockheed Martin To Develop Cyber/Electronic Warfare Podded System For U.S. Army

    Annapolis Junction, Maryland, January 29, 2019 – Lockheed Martin [NYSE:LMT] has been awarded a Prototype Project Agreement through an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) with Consortium Management Group (CMG) on behalf of Consortium for Command, Control and Communications in Cyberspace (C5)valued at $18 million to design, develop and test a cyber/electronic warfare podded system for the “Air Large” component of the U.S. Army's Multi-Function Electronic Warfare (MFEW) family of systems program. Lockheed Martin created an open architecture system called Silent CROW™ that can be easily configured for a variety of airborne and ground platforms, such as a wing-mounted pod for Group 4 unmanned aerial systems.
