  Contract Awards by US Department of Defense - December 07, 2020

  ARMY West-MGE JV,* Tempe, Arizona, was awarded a $40,000,000 firm-fixed-price contract for civil works and hydrology and hydraulics services. Bids were solicited via the internet with 15 received. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 7, 2025. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque, New Mexico, is the contracting activity (W912PP-21-D-0001). AIR FORCE International Enterprises Inc., Talladega, Alabama, has been awarded a $12,469,948 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ), requirements contract for F-16 modular low power radio frequency (MLPRF) and dual mode transmitter (DMT) repairs. This contract provides for the repair of both MLPRF and DMT, which function as part of the radar systems of each F-16 C/D aircraft. Work will be performed in Talladega, Alabama, and is expected to be completed Dec. 6, 2025. This award is the result of a competitive acquisition and one offer was received. Funding for the initial order is not presently available due to the contract being a requirements-type IDIQ. The Air Force Material Command, Hill Air Force Base, Utah, is the contracting activity (FA8251-21-D-0004). U.S. TRANSPORTATION COMMAND Air Transport International Inc., Wilmington, Ohio, has been awarded a task order HTC711-21-F-W009 under contract HTC711-19-D-W002 in the estimated amount of $7,650,630. The contract provides international, commercial, door to door, cargo transportation services. Multiple or single modes (e.g. airlift, sealift, linehaul) of transportation may be used in any combination to move cargo globally. The task order period of performance is from Dec. 4, 2020, to March 6, 2021. Fiscal 2021 transportation working capital funds were obligated at award. U.S. Transportation Command, Directorate of Acquisition, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, is the contracting activity.   AeroVironment Receives $45 Million Raven B Unmanned Aircraft Systems Contract Award for U.S. Army Security Force Assistance Brigades

  SIMI VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ:AVAV), a global leader in unmanned aircraft systems for both defense and commercial applications, today announced it received a firm fixed-price contract award on July 25, 2019 valued at $45,190,881 for RQ-11B Raven® small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and initial spares packages. AeroVironment received the contract award from the United States Army for its Security Force Assistance Brigades (SFAB). Delivery is anticipated by January 2020. The SFAB are specialized units with the core mission to conduct training, advising, assisting, enabling and accompanying operations with allied and partner nations. “Raven is the most widely deployed small unmanned aircraft system in the United States Department of Defense's fleet,” said Rick Pedigo, vice president, sales and business development for AeroVironment. “Our family of small unmanned aircraft systems supports all U.S. military services and more than 45 allied nations. Soldiers use it to conduct battlefield reconnaissance and provide their units with a greater level of security. Sgt. Foluke Marsh added, “If you need to have eyes on a target, or eyes on a convoy to make sure everything is safe, it's good to send out the Raven instead of risking someone getting hurt or killed.” AeroVironment's Raven is a fully man-portable, hand-launched small unmanned aircraft system designed for land-based operations.   Four companies awarded $72.8M for special projects for Navy, DHS, CBP

  By Allen Cone July 9 (UPI) -- Four companies have been awarded contracts worth $72.8 million for unspecified special projects and electronic systems for the U.S. Navy, Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection and other government agencies. The three-year contracts include two two-year option periods, which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of all four contracts to an estimated $176.4 million, the Department of Defense announced Monday. Awarded contracts were Deloitte Consulting for $21.7 million, Serco Inc. for $18.2 million, McKean Defense Group for $17.6 million and Alutiiq Information Management for $15.3 million in the execution of sustainment and technical support for special projects and electronic systems for experimental, demonstration and developmental technology. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Pacific Special Projects and Electronics Systems Branch last June posted a proposal for management, hardware engineering, software engineering, configuration management and logistics support that includes experimental, demonstration and developmental technology for the U.S. Navy, Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection and other government activities. Among the Naval units involved with the developmental efforts are the Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command, Naval Information Warfare Systems Command Program Executive Offices, Commander Third Fleet, Sea Systems Command and Facilities Command, in addition to non-Navy units. All four companies will compete for task orders under the contracts, which run through July 7, 2022. If all contract options are exercised, the period of performance extends through July 7, 2026. All work under the contracts will be performed in San Diego. The U.S. Navy in June removed "space" from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, or SPAWARS, and added "information" in a rebranding effort that emphasizes information warfare. The agency's new name is the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command. This past February, the two echelon III commands -- formerly "systems centers" -- also changed names.
