    Industry Engagement Session FAcT (W3471-130001/J)

    BACKGROUND: It is the responsibility of the Commander Royal Canadian Air Force, on behalf of the Minister of National Defence and the Chief of the Defence Staff to generate and maintain a combat capable and multi-purpose air force to meet the “Strong Secure Engaged Canada's Defence Policy” 2017 objectives. Initiative 53 directs that the Royal Canadian Air Force “Acquire aircrew training systems” to ensure that the Canadian Armed Forces remain Strong at home, Secure in North America and Engaged in the World. FAcT will encompass Pilot, Air Combat Systems Officer (ACSO), and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operator (AES Op) training. The consultative process will include an “Industry Engagement Session” followed by one-on-one “Industry Meetings”. The Industry Engagement Session is scheduled for May 2, 2018 from 0900 hrs to 1500 hrs at the 111 Sussex Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Arrival and Sign-in will be from 0800 – 0900 hrs. Industry one-on-one meetings will be scheduled for the afternoon of May 2 at the same location and May 3-4 (if required) at 1 Nicholas Street, 2nd Floor Conference Room, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.     Future Fighter Regional Forums in Montreal

    Future Fighter Regional Forums This Letter of Interest (LOI) is to inform interested stakeholders that Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) Canada, in partnership with the Department of National Defence (DND), and Public Services and Procurement Canada, as well as Canada's Regional Development Agencies, will be holding Regional Forums in select cities across Canada from April 23, 2018 to May 1, 2018 on the Future Fighter Capability Project (FFCP). These forums are a parallel and a separate activity to the FFCP competition and will not result in a procurement process by the Government of Canada. The Future Fighter Regional Forums will be an opportunity for Canadian industry and other stakeholders to learn more about the FFCP including potential industrial opportunities through Canada's ITB Policy including Value Proposition. Through the open and transparent FFCP competitive process to replace Canada's CF-18 fleet with 88 advanced fighter aircraft, which is the most significant investment in the Royal Canadian Air Force in a generation, Canada is seeking from the eligible Suppliers commercial entities on the FFCP Supplier List, strategic and strong economic benefits under Canada's Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) Policy.     Military IoT & Sensors Summit

    The 2018 Military IoT and Sensors Summit will provide a forum on how the enhanced capabilities of the internet are transforming the modern battlespace. In addition, this event will also provide insight on the efforts to improve current sensor capabilities, as well as assisting in the development of IoTs throughout the DoD enterprise. Topics to be covered at the 2018 Summit: Increasing sensor capabilities to enhance situational awareness on the battlefield Understanding the benefits and challenges associated with IoT and Sensor technologies Combating cyber vulnerabilities within IoT networks Integrating IoTs in support of enhanced combat effectiveness Managing the expansion of interconnected devices across cyberspace Implementing IoTs to enhance intelligence collection Leveraging IoTs to improve protection for the Warfighter Addressing the integration of IoTs onto wearable technologies Why You Should Attend this Year's Summit: The rapid integration of IoTs on modern sensor technologies has brought about vast changes across the DoD. With the projected number of IoT devices to exceed 21 billion by the year 2020, the DoD and the Intelligence Community must be proactive and ready to protect its personnel, data, and mission. DoD has long dealt with sensor technology, and the integration of internet connectivity onto these sensors has opened the door for vast opportunity to increase current capabilities. With any opportunity comes risk and challenges that DoD will need to address moving forward for efficient and timely mission success.     Bidders’ Conference - IDEaS

    A bidders' conference will be held in Ottawa, tentatively scheduled for April 25th, 2018. The conference will also be available via webcasting for bidders not able to attend in person. More information on the confirmed date and the webcasting will be made available prior to the conference on https://buyandsell.gc.ca. The scope of this CFP will be reviewed during the conference and questions will be answered. It is recommended that bidders who intend to submit a bid attend or send a representative. Bidders are requested to communicate with the Contracting Authority before the conference to confirm attendance. Bidders should provide, in writing, to the Contracting Authority, the names of the person(s) who will be attending, their title/role in the Bidder's organization, and a list of issues they wish to table at least five working days before the scheduled conference. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the bidders' conference will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation. Bidders who do not attend will not be precluded from submitting a bid.
