A top Chinese warplane-producing company recently announced plans to make technological breakthroughs to ensure the successful development of a new, fourth-generation stealth fighter jet, and conduct test production and research on its next-generation aircraft in 2021.
China is widely expected to develop an aircraft carrier-ready stealth fighter jet, as the US is racing China in next-generation warplane development.
Dubbed a cradle of Chinese fighter jets, the Shenyang Aircraft Co. Ltd. under the state-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) released a statement last week on its WeChat public account and revealed its work plans for 2021.

The Skyborg Program, one of three USAF Vanguard Programs, is focused on expanding the envelope of the application of unmanned aircraft use, particularly with respect to Artificial Intelligence. Kratos XQ-58A has been flying since March of 2019, approximately 30 months after aircraft conception, and was designed specifically for these applications and the ability to support missions from ISR to Strike in manned-unmanned teaming scenarios or in unmanned only mission sets. These capabilities are intended to substantially increase the effectiveness of our country's military mission sets, while at the same time reducing risk to the exquisite assets and manned elements—saving resources and, most importantly, lives.” The contract includes three phases of design, integration, and flight testing of the Kratos XQ-58A Valkyrie system, integrating multiple customer-defined mission payloads and customer-defined autonomy in coordination/cooperation with the Skyborg System Design Agent company, Leidos. Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO Foreign Ministers will address pressing security issues at their meeting starting on Tuesday (28 November 2023) in Brussels. Speaking at NATO Headquarters ahead of the meeting, Mr Stoltenberg welcomed the extension of the pause in the hostilities in Gaza and said that this has allowed for much needed relief for the people in Gaza, the release of more hostages, and the delivery of more humanitarian aid.
