Military Additive Manufacturing Summit, Delivering Innovative & Responsive 3D Printing Solutions to the Warfighter

Our 2nd Annual Military Additive Manufacturing Summit is designed as an educational and training ''Town Hall'' forum, where thought leaders and key policy-makers across military services, Defense agencies, and civilian organizations can come together for actionable discussions and debate. This year's Summit will focus on the technology and innovation needed to further develop additive manufacturing technology and current level of capability in order to deliver greater flexibility to the Warfighter in deployed environments. This Year's Topics to Include: Innovations in Advanced Additive Manufacturing Logistical Support on Demand: Flattening the Supply Chain in Support of the Warfighter Leveraging Practical Maintenance & Sustainment Solutions to Reduce Operational Costs Improving Mission Readiness through Utilization of AM Technologies Utilizing Additive Manufacturing to Reduce Strain on Existing Supply Chains DoD Perspective on Enhancing the Industrial Base's Additive Manufacturing Capabilities US Navy Perspective towards Additive Manufacturing: Leveraging the Technology to Enhance the Fleet Durability & Readiness Redefining Manufacturing: Rapid Prototyping to Functional Production Bringing Additive Manufacturing Capabilities to the Point of Need Providing On-Demand Fulfillment & Reducing Dependence on Resupply Missions Improving the Functionality of 3D Printed Parts and Equipment through AM Innovation Why You Should Attend the Military Additive Manufacturing Summit According to recent reports, the worldwide 3D printing industry is expected to grow to $12.8 Billion in 2018, and is projected to exceed $21 billion by 2020. Manufacturers across a broad spectrum of industries including automotive, aerospace, high tech, and medical products are all piloting and using 3D printing technologies today. However, the US Military is taking an extremely active role in implementing the unique set of tools that additive manufacturing has proven that it can offer to units in resource scarce environments operating under restricted time schedules. Through the use of 3D printing solutions, the Military is able to enhance the maintenance and sustainment capabilities needed to reduce downtime; minimize the costs associated with having to purchase, transport, and store additional resources; offer more operational flexibility to leaders in the field of logistics; and provide units in remote locations with the ability to reduce the size of their supply chains becoming more self-sufficient and agile in isolated and contested environments. Additionally, the latest innovation in this field is metal additive manufacturing. This is accomplished by taking a base material, usually in the form of a metal powder and using heat generated by lasers to build a form. Other materials are being explored for additive manufacturing as well. We are beginning to move beyond 3d printing only being extruded plastic polymers and the military is particularly interested in this. The Navy has taken the first steps to explore this technology and the other branches are engaged as well. This forum will offer additive manufacturing solution providers, members from Government, and leaders in academia the opportunity to hear from some of the US Military's most senior and qualified subject matter experts on the future role of additive manufacturing in the Defense industry.

    Network Centric Warfare (NCW) Conference

We are proud to host the second annual Network Centric Warfare conference, which will convene at the Crowne Park Plaza in Rome on the 1st and 2nd Februray 2018. As we look into the 21st century, the way in which military forces communicate, disseminate intelligence and issue orders is changing as several NATO-aligned nations pursue network enabled capabilities programmes. There is now an emphasis on 'system of systems' network that empowers a robust web of interaction between air and ground forces - maximising asset deployment and creating a common operating picture. As battlespace has become digitised, the focus on data and communication networking between joint forces and command and control facilities has taken centre stage. With combat exercises increasingly operating in asymmetrical environments, there is a growing need to exploit well networked forces. In this context, through streams of data and real-time analysis, decision making on the ground has become more effective and efficient - with robustly networked forces adaptively responding to threats with versatility and agility. With the Italian MoD - in conjunction with industry - controlling the development zeitgeist through the Forza NEC (network enabled capability) programme, there is a clear demonstration of a continuing focus on building network enabled capability and senior military investment in the process. The Network Centric Warfare conference will focus on key aspects challenging and enhancing joint operations - in particular, utilisation of digital fire support, interoperability between air and ground based communication systems, digitalisation of battlespace, improving technical education and the Forza NEC programme. Benefits of Attending Hear the very latest advances from Armies, Air forces and Joint Force Commands related to: Digitalisation of battlespace Forza NEC Technical education programmes Communication network interoperability Situational awareness through network enabled ISR data Digital fires Plus Half-Day Pre-Conference Workshop | Wednesday, 31th January 2018 Network Centric Warfare Capabilities in Support of Homeland Security Operations Hosted by: Major General (Ret'd) Luigi Scollo, Former Chief of Staff, NATO Rapid Deployable Italian Corps 1.00pm - 5.30pm

Maritime Reconnaissance and Surveillance Technology Conference

We are proud to announce the third annual Maritime Reconnaissance and Surveillance Technology conference will be held in Rome from the 30th-31st January 2018. Reconnaissance and Surveillance are key to developing clear and accurate maritime situational awareness. In order to maximise their ISR range, Navies and Maritime agencies around the globe are looking beyond the atmosphere to provide new and advanced surveillance capabilities. Space-based surveillance systems are providing users with up-to-date information from both a signal tracking and data imagery point of view, allowing for the monitoring of shipping routes, fishing grounds, environmental issues and illegal activities. However, not all nations can afford to launch and run dedicated surveillance satellite systems and focus on conventional platforms to fulfil their maritime ISR requirements. Therefore, an international approach is needed to allow Maritime authorities and Navies to monitor the world's oceans and share relevant up-to-date information correctly. As well as hearing about how new surveillance satellite technologies are being developed and integrated into fleets and coast guard agencies, you will also hear about how new and emerging ISR technologies and platforms are shearing information, not only between platforms but between nations and organisations. As well as strong support from the host nation, there will also be neighbouring and regional speakers providing updates and briefings on developing ISR capabilities and maritime situational awareness. Benefits of Attending Features high ranking military officials involved with the enhancement of naval surveillance programmes Learn how nations including Italy, the UK, France, Germany, Canada and the USA are developing their maritime ISR capabilities through space-based and unmanned surveillance technologies Get to the heart of challenges faced by maritime forces through focused briefings, discussions and networking Highlighting the importance of technology to collect and disseminate information to major operators at sea Military and civilian personnel, Chief Executive Officers, Chief Operating Officers, Managing Directors, Vice Presidents, Director, Partners, Heads and Managers working in: C4ISTAR Maritime Security Space-based Surveillance Counter Piracy and Illegal Immigration AIS Maritime Traffic Monitoring Port and Coastal Security National Air Forces National Navies National Coast Guards Plus One Pre-Conference Workshop | Monday 29th January 2018 C-SIGMA: Improving International Collaboration in Space to Enhance Maritime Situational Awareness Hosted by Guy Thomas, Director of C-SIGMA 12.30 to 16.30

    C4ISR and Beyond

Opening Keynote – The Future Information Environment: Implications for Intelligence Panel 1 – Weaponizing Data Data is an enabler in the C4ISR system in the digital age. This panel focuses on the sharing of experiences, insights, and ideas born in the digital and technology sectors of industry that are living and leading in data and digital – in ways that are not only relevant to C4ISR in the CAF and DND – but critical to realizing the very best possible outcomes digital and technology can bring in this and the age to come. Next Generation C3 Centre Design The proliferation of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) information is radically changing the landscape of the military and intelligence community. Countries are now following a strategy of information superiority to defend against a broad range of threats. The processing and analysis of this information mostly happens in a secure command and control operations center. The current focus of these command centers is “Instant Situational Awareness;” that is, “how can I use the ISR information sources available to me to give me a full and instant picture of the situation?” Panel 2 – C4ISR – Military View – Environmental Domains This panel presents and deliberates on the view of the mission of the CAF at large, and the evolving nature of land, maritime and air warfare – describing and implying the key role C4ISR plays – and the key capabilities soldiers, sailors, airmen and women – and their leaders at all levels require in order to succeed in operations. Lunch Keynote- Anticipate, Adapt and Act: C4ISR Capability Development in the CAF Panel 3 – Delivering C4ISR through and for SSE This panel speaks to key initiatives and new conditions that need to be established if the best of digital, technology, people and processes are to be brought to bear. It presents and deliberates on the measures being pursued, or that need to be pursued, if Defence and the Government of Canada are to achieve these ends – leveraging the unique and the best offerings of industry, innovation, technology and partnerships that bring these together. Delivering is a team effort. Who and how do we animate that in a modern, and speed of digital age? Panel 4 - Targeting Cyber, Space and intelligence operations persist at all levels – at the tactical, operational and strategic levels. At the same time, each has its own needs of and contributions to the larger C4ISR effort. This panel presents both the nature of cyber, space and intelligence needs and operations – in managing/exploiting/exploiting their own domains - and the nature of their work to enable operations in the other more familiar domains of air/land/maritime warfare. C4ISR is executed within these areas, what are the key challenges being confronted and areas for new capability development?
