  First Harris T7 bomb disposal robots sent to British army

  By Ed Adamczyk Dec. 26 (UPI) -- The British army accepted the first four of 56 bomb disposal robots it ordered from Harris Corporation, the U.K. government announced. The T7 ground vehicles, manufactured by Florida-based Harris, are equipped with high-definition cameras, data links, an adjustable manipulation arm, and tank-like all-terrain treads. They also employ "haptic feedback," which recreates the sense of the robot's touch and gives an operator a better understanding of the object being diffused. They also offer vibrations when wires or other elements of the bomb are touched by the robot, to guide the operator.   Raytheon upgrading Germany's Patriot integrated air and missile defense system

  $105 million contract provides Germany the most advanced version available ANDOVER, Mass., July 29, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) is upgrading Germany's Patriot Integrated Air and Missile Defense System to the most current configuration available under a $105.5 million direct commercial sales contract from the NATO Support and Procurement Agency. The contract award was first announced on Raytheon's earnings call on July 25th. "This upgrade ensures that Germany's air and missile defense remains current until at least 2035," said Tom Laliberty, Raytheon vice president of Integrated Air and Missile Defense. The contract comes shortly after the Defense and Budget Committees of the German Federal Parliament approved the upgrade, ensuring Germany remains aligned with five other EU and NATO allies that rely on Patriot for their air and missile defense.   SCAF : la répartition des piliers dévoilées

  Le 25 mai, le ministère des Armées et la Direction générale de l'armement ont dévoilé la répartition précise des piliers du système de combat aérien du futur (SCAF). Le projet global est coordonné par les trois pays partenaires via Dassault Aviation (pour la France), Airbus Defence and Space (pour l'Allemagne) et Indra (pour l'Espagne) et chaque pilier du projet sera confié à un maître d'œuvre unique. « Sur chaque pilier, un équilibre a été trouvé entre le « prime » et le « main partner » en l'adaptant aux différents sujets », explique l'ingénieure générale de l'armement Eva Portier. Dassault Aviation est maître d'œuvre du Next Generation Fighter (NGF) tandis que Airbus Defence and Space est responsable des « remote carriers » et du cloud de combat. L'entité espagnole d'Airbus Defence and Space concevra les technologies de furtivité.
