The symposium will focus on service and DoD DE roadmaps, DE's role in National security and the future Force, R&D initiatives, acquisition strategies, and much more. Leaders across the DoD and Services have long-since recognized the value that DE can provide to the Military in both offensive and defensive capacities. The maturation of DE technologies coupled with ongoing RDT&E efforts have paved the way for the rapid development and deployment of DE capabilities across the Military Services and Federal Government To fully leverage the vast amount of dollars and time already invested in DE technologies during the 20th century, the DoD and Federal Govt. must spend a proportionate amount of time structuring acquisition and funding strategies, driving technology investment, and fostering a culture of innovation to meet near and far-term DE mission needs. Our team specializes in the extensive research and development of our symposium's content and focus areas, and we will assemble the most respected minds in the directed energy community to include key policy-makers across military and civilian offices. Symposium, Aerospace, Naval, Land

UAS East for DOD and Government Symposium

In the area of autonomous platforms, unmanned aerial vehicles have become the most matured segment to-date as the military has quickly valued their abilities in surveillance and strike missions but as for at sea and on land, the competitive landscape for vendors is largely still shaking itself out as they require more development to get to production, robotics and unmanned ground vehicles are regaining prominence as those obligations have rebounded from $681.8 million in fiscal 2014 to $1.6 billion last fiscal year mostly on R&D spending increases. Those numbers show a turnaround from sequestration cuts and defense spending shifts. Future compound annual growth rate of 10.2 percent through fiscal 2021 with Army, Navy and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency programs among the drivers. Research sees cognitive engineering advancements as a driver of ground robotics as vehicles learn how to operate on their own and collaborate with other like platforms. Key issues address in the Program General Session will include: DoD, Government Unmanned Systems: Future Plans, Requirements, Policy and Programs UMV, USV, UGV, & UAS Platform Systems Integration and Capabilities Advancements in UMV Persistent Subsea Capabilities Cutting-Edge Unmanned Ground & Robotics Technologies & Testing for the Warfighter Technological Advancements in UGV Manned & Unmanned Teaming for Ground Forces Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning between Manned & Unmanned Technologies Future Unmanned Air and Ground Systems Capabilities Advancements UAS Sensor & Data Collection Capabilities Advancements in Robotic Autonomous System (RAS) Technologies Attending "Unmanned Systems" will be a rewarding investment of your time. LET’S START AT CHAPTER ONE, 15 NOVEMBER 2018

A ONE-DAY WORKSHOP DISCUSSION ON THE PERSONNEL CHALLENGES FACING THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES IN MEETING THE EXPECTATIONS OF “STRONG, SECURE, ENGAGED” The 2017 Defence Policy “Strong, Secure, Engaged” made a strong statement on the central and critical role that Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) personnel in delivering defence for Canada and Canadians. Starting at Chapter One, the Canadian Government laid out a series of ambitious goals on engagement with the Canadian public, the recruiting of Canadians from all walks of life into the the growing number of skill areas required for military operations of the future and then ensuring that individuals had greater choice and flexibility in how they pursued their military careers. From building a military team that is inclusive of the diversity to be found in the Canadian population, to full and part time employment through to better health and family support during and after military service, the objectives laid out in Chapter One of “Strong, Secure, Engaged” are among the most challenging of the entire 111 initiatives contained in the policy. The central role for personnel issues also hightlights that the “people” challenges represent the largest investment of Defence spending. Ensuring the CAF secures and retains the right numbers and skillsets of recruits and trained service personnel for the ever-widening range of tasks that will be required for operational success and meeting the philosophy of “People First, Mission Always”. “Lets Start at Chapter One” provides for not only a discussion of some of the challenges that the CAF, and others, must overcome to build a modern and high-performing team for the future, but also some of the innovative and effective strategies that are being used in Canada to do just that. During the day, participants will be able to hear from leading defence and security leaders as well as experienced HR practitioners plus as contribute their own experiences during workshops on several key questions that are at the top of the list for the CAF to address.
