The Polish Defence Sector is growing rapidly with an annual budget allocation close to 2.5% of the Polish GDP. Between 2018 and 2028, significant investments in the defence sector will be made. In fact, the defence budget in Poland could be raised by more than $38 billion to renew military equipment through the technical modernization plan of the Polish Armed Forces. The Polish government is open to international collaboration, which represents significant opportunities for Canadian companies in the defence sector wishing to access the Polish market. Mr. Andrzej Hładij, Deputy Editor-in-chief for the online publicationDefence 24 (www.defence24.pl; www.defence24.com) will present an overview of the recent changes that impacted the Polish defence sector in the past year. He will also provide an update on the defence sector in Poland, including key procurement programs, business opportunities and challenges of the Polish defence market. The presentation will be followed by an insight on MSPO 2018, the 3rd biggest trade show in the defence sector in Europe, scheduled from September 4 to 7, in Kielce, Poland. Last year's edition attracted a record-breaking 40,000 visitors from 27 countries and 618 exhibitors. This year, Canada will have a Pavilion hosting 6 Canadian companies.
