What is this Event?

The China Helicopter Exposition (www.helicopter-china-expo.com) is the largest international helicopter trade industry event in China. Held from October 10 to 13, 2019 in Tianjin, this biannual exhibition will attract over 20,000 trade participants and 400 exhibitors from 20 countries. In addition to live flight demonstrations, the China Helicopter Exposition is also a platform for technical cooperation with various workshops and conference as well as B2B meetings.

Who Should Register

Companies specializing in the helicopter manufacturing and operations including helicopter design and testing, parts and components, MRO, flight operation and services, and pilot training who are interested in pursuing business opportunities in China.

Below are details on each specific activity and how Canadian companies can be involved.

Activity #1: Canada Pavilion (October 10-13, 2019)

Register as an Exhibitor or Trade Visitor at the Canadian Pavilion

Canadian companies can register as an Exhibitor at the Canada Pavilion and leverage the participation of other Canadian companies under the Embassy-organized Canadian Pavilion. A booth within Canada Pavilion costs approximately CAD 3600 (9 sqm) or CAD 7200 (18 sqm) including construction fees. This basic setup will include 1 table, 2 chairs and 2 backdrop panels for company signage (please refer to attached Canada Pavilion design). Final costs are subject to change, but is not expected to exceed 20% of the indicated rate. Interested Canadian companies are required to register with Canadian Embassy. Please contact Ms. Heidi Wang at Heidi.Wang@international.gc.ca no later than August 30, 2019.

Participating Canadian companies who are not exhibiting can obtain a free trade visitor's pass by registering with China Helicopter Exposition (www.helicopter-china-expo.com) no later than July 25, 2019.

Activity #2: Canadian Technical Seminar with AVICopter (October 10, 2019)

Description

Participating Canadian companies will have an opportunity to present their technologies and services to a local audience of 30-50 technical experts and engineers from AVICopter and its affiliated R&D institutes and manufacturing facilities. Discussion will include areas of potential collaboration in China's indigenous helicopter programs.

AVICopter, one of the major subsidiary companies of Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), is principally engaged in the development, manufacture and distribution of both civilian and military helicopter products. The company's core products consist of the Z-8, HAMC Z-9, CHAIG Z-11, AC311, AC312 and AC313 helicopters, as well as helicopter parts. AVICopter is also involved in the development, consulting and services of aerospace technology, the development, design, research, manufacture and sales of mechanical and electrical products, as well as import and export trading.

Video Requirements

All participating Canadian companies are strongly encouraged to provide a video presentation introducing their company. Please provide a video (minimum 720p in .mp4 [preferred] or .mpeg format) that is no longer than 5 minutes. The TCS will combine all videos collected and create a single video presentation. Your video content can be in Mandarin Chinese or the language of your choice with Chinese language subtitles. The TCS can assist to add subtitles if the content is submitted in English or French. The TCS reserves the right to edit video content as required.

The deadline for video content is no later than September 20, 2019. If your company is unable to provide video content, please contact Ms. Heidi Wang at Heidi.Wang@international.gc.ca.

Activity #3: B2B Meetings with Local Companies (October 10-11, 2019)

Description

Trade Commissioners from all across China will attend the China Helicopter Exposition and will be available for providing local marketing briefings as well as facilitating introductions with local contacts.

Activity #4: Canada Welcome Reception (October 9, 2019, TBC)

Description

Subject to funding and venue availability, the Embassy will coordinate an evening reception for participating Canadian companies. This will be an opportunity to invite local contacts and customers as well as network with local aerospace stakeholders and officials.

Registration

All TCS clients attending the China Helicopter Exposition are invited to attend. More details are forthcoming.

Logistics and Funding

Participating Canadian companies are responsible for their own travel costs. To defray expenses, companies may wish to review their eligibility for the Government of Canada's CanExport program or contact their provincial government for support. Many interlocutors in China will have limited English or French language abilities and participating Canadian companies without Mandarin-speaking staff are advised to retain a translator to assist with presentations and B2B meetings. The TCS can introduce local translation service providers as required.
