Opening Keynote –

The Future Information Environment: Implications for Intelligence

Panel 1 – Weaponizing Data

Data is an enabler in the C4ISR system in the digital age. This panel focuses on the sharing of experiences, insights, and ideas born in the digital and technology sectors of industry that are living and leading in data and digital – in ways that are not only relevant to C4ISR in the CAF and DND – but critical to realizing the very best possible outcomes digital and technology can bring in this and the age to come.

Next Generation C3 Centre Design

The proliferation of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) information is radically changing the landscape of the military and intelligence community. Countries are now following a strategy of information superiority to defend against a broad range of threats.

The processing and analysis of this information mostly happens in a secure command and control operations center. The current focus of these command centers is “Instant Situational Awareness;” that is, “how can I use the ISR information sources available to me to give me a full and instant picture of the situation?”

Panel 2 – C4ISR – Military View – Environmental Domains

This panel presents and deliberates on the view of the mission of the CAF at large, and the evolving nature of land, maritime and air warfare – describing and implying the key role C4ISR plays – and the key capabilities soldiers, sailors, airmen and women – and their leaders at all levels require in order to succeed in operations.

Lunch Keynote-

Anticipate, Adapt and Act: C4ISR Capability Development in the CAF

Panel 3 – Delivering C4ISR through and for SSE

This panel speaks to key initiatives and new conditions that need to be established if the best of digital, technology, people and processes are to be brought to bear. It presents and deliberates on the measures being pursued, or that need to be pursued, if Defence and the Government of Canada are to achieve these ends – leveraging the unique and the best offerings of industry, innovation, technology and partnerships that bring these together. Delivering is a team effort. Who and how do we animate that in a modern, and speed of digital age?

Panel 4 - Targeting

Cyber, Space and intelligence operations persist at all levels – at the tactical, operational and strategic levels. At the same time, each has its own needs of and contributions to the larger C4ISR effort.

This panel presents both the nature of cyber, space and intelligence needs and operations – in managing/exploiting/exploiting their own domains - and the nature of their work to enable operations in the other more familiar domains of air/land/maritime warfare. C4ISR is executed within these areas, what are the key challenges being confronted and areas for new capability development?
