The European armoured vehicles market is now estimated to lead the world over the next 10 years, and will likely account for approximately a third of the global requirement. Hungary recently announced it will increased total defence spending to 2% of GDP as early as 2024. Throughout the region there is a renewed focus on armament modernisation programmes, as well as a new emphasis on regional and multinational training exercises and collective defence. To address an increasingly assertive Russia NATO is implementing the largest reinforcement of collective defence in Eastern Europe since the Cold War - with multinational battle groups from 17 NATO Allies, including Hungary, currently deploying to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.
