    Countering Drones conference

Keeping up with technology in an industry in perpetual development A year has passed since the inaugural Countering Drones conference. Policy developments have been few and far between and, in most cases, regulation has continued to prevent law enforcement and security professionals from engaging potential drone threats effectively. Compounding this, our sector surveys and ongoing research with the user community have highlighted that there is an asymmetry between existing knowledge of industry solutions, and the products that are actually being developed for market. Government agencies still have plenty of work to do with regulators and industry to develop an effective counter drone framework and, as the drone threat continues to evolve and multiply, discussions must continue in an effort to stay ahead of malicious pilots. This December, we will continue to grow our audience of security professionals by welcoming stakeholders from more sectors- such as international and sporting event managers- who are determined to move ahead and acquire the best fitting solution for their needs, as soon as the go ahead is given. It is now critical that governments work with regulators and industry to develop an effective counter drone framework, and correctly understanding the multitude of challenges that drones present is central to this. Sites of critical national infrastructure, prisons, airports, sporting venues and other stadia are at serious risk, constrained by embryonic regulation and undefined remits for threat engagement. This December, we will provide a unique platform where security professions can share their challenges with governments, regulators and industry, to assist in developing a lens for threat assessment and a framework for progression. It is in this context that we will host our 2nd Countering Drones Global conference this December. We look forward to seeing you in London for Europe's number one countering drones conference, as we seek to develop complete solutions to this emerging threat. Join the Countering Drones conference to: Effectively measure and prepare for the risk posed by drones by receiving exclusive security briefings from leading international experts Make an informed assessment of different types of counter-drone technologies and identify which system is best for your unique circumstances Influence future policy by contributing to high-level discussions with policymakers, insurers and legal practitioners Ensure that your organisation is aware of current developments in national security strategy, regulations and aviation legislation by hearing from senior policymakers from the UK, Europe and US Benefit from legal and insurance policy guidance to better protect your organisation from drone-related incidents Key questions to be addressed include: How is drone and counter-drone technology developing and how might this impact the security of key industries? How vulnerable is critical national infrastructure, in particular, to civilian drones? What are the current safeguards to protect against this and how can we measure this risk? What kind of counter-drone solutions should commercial organisations employ, if any, and what might be the legal implications of their use? Hear from industry experts on the latest counter-drone technological developments and how they plan to solve enduring challenges for government and commercial industry - from detection to disruption What are the regulatory obstacles that stand in the way of the development and employment of different types of counter drone solutions? What measures are appropriate and in what contexts? Who Should Attend Countering Drones Airports, sea ports, borders and railways Civil Aviation Authorities and Air Traffic Managements Counter-terror agencies, law enforcement and emergency services Government buildings, military bases and sensitive installations Major broadcasters, film and television studios National space agencies and major industrial complexes Critical infrastructure including nuclear power stations, grids and utilities Public buildings, embassies and consulates International organisations including the UN, NATO and WTO Sporting arenas and major venues event venues

Countering Explosive Threat and Demining Conference

The inaugural gathering of the world's EOD community Explosive weapons, both conventional munition or improvised explosive, have become a fact of modern conflict. Behind the conflict, this threat for millions across the globe is, in reality, a fact of life which continues to decimate communities across the world. UNICEF estimates one casualty every 20 minutes caused by explosive weapons. Responding to this ongoing crisis, the inaugural Countering Explosive Threat and Demining conference, held with support from the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Explosive Threats, and supported by the Counter-IED UK, representing the UK's Counter-IED supply chain and collaborating with Her Majesty's Government, British Army and security forces, this truly unique forum will bring together key stakeholders and decision makers from the complete, global EOD community. Led by senior policy drivers from government, NGO's and military and supported by industry leaders across all three pillars of EOD - prepare the force, attack the network and defeat the device - the conference will outline the new, joint approach to countering the explosive threat. 5 Key Benefits of Attending Enhance international collaboration with EOD partners from civilian, military and humanitarian sectors to develop joint strategies for demining and explosive ordnance clearance Engage directly with policy directors from leading NGO's and government bodies to support their ongoing clearance objectives across the globe Identify the new explosive threat landscape through briefings from operational clearance leaders, and align your operating procedures to defeat the new threat Understand new international directives towards demining and C-IED for both military and civilian sectors, with dedicated sessions on the new International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) framework Use technical capability demonstrations from leading experts in detection and disposal systems to develop cutting-edge defeat-the-device capabilitie

    Air Power Eastern Europe Conference

TRAINING, UPGRADING AND DEPLOYING AIR POWER TO ENHANCE COLLECTIVE SECURITY The annexation of Crimea redoubled military planners' efforts to leave behind last decade's focus on asymmetric warfare and concentrate on the very real possibility of having to defend against aggression on the European continent. The nations of Eastern Europe responded by increasing defence spending faster than any other region in the world in 2018. Poland already meets NATO's 2% GDP target, and plans to increase defence spending by 46 billion euros over 15 years. Romania's defence budget exceeded 3 billion USD for the first time in 2016, and Lithuania should meet the NATO 2% target for the first time this year. As the modernisation of regional armed forces continues and readiness levels increase, NATO members on the eastern flank recognise that the decisive deployment of air power will be critical to deterring and responding to aggression and ensuring collective security. Against this backdrop, we have launched this regional summit, in order to ensure that air power - rotary and fixed-wing - can be leveraged as a critical enabler for the joint force, up to and beyond 2025. Attend Air Power Eastern Europe to: Shape emerging regional requirements for fighter aircraft, helicopters, MRO and flight training, and support collaborative approaches to combat air procurement Define a logistics and support model which can support rapid maneuverability for air and joint force operations Integrate updated capability alongside a legacy aircraft fleet to support enhanced mission readiness and interoperability Address the training shortfall to support pilot readiness for complex operations, and optimise the live training balance to take account of a multi-platform fleet

US Export Controls with REFORM CHANGES Seminar

This seminar series provides both novice and experienced export compliance professionals with a comprehensive education on complying with regulations administered by the US departments of State, Commerce, and Treasury, and what the recent ECR changes and potential coming changes from a new administration mean for their compliance programs. Export Control Reform (ECR) changes have relaxed the controls on most defense-related items and technology, but made understanding and complying with the regulations even more complicated. The shift of most military and space items from the ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) to the EAR (Export Administration Regulations) forces exporters to learn the highly complicated ins and outs of the EAR. The good news is that the complex rules impose significantly less compliance burdens and fewer compliance-based export delays. So if you learn these rules, you will be able to export sooner and reduce the costs of compliance, giving you a competitive advantage. TWO BACK-TO-BACK SEMINARS: ITAR Defense Trade Controls - 2-DAY SEMINAR - December 10 - 11, 2018 Introduction to Export Controls - ITAR, DDTC & More Munitions Export Controls & Determining Jurisdiction ''Specially Designed'' and the Order of Review Controlled Items and Activities License Requirements & Application Workshop New Brokering Rules & Political Contributions Technical Data Considerations License, Agreement & Exemption Management Internal Control Programs Items Shifted from USML to CCL Export Control Reform: Adjusting & Updating Practice EAR & OFAC Commercial & Military Export Controls - 2-DAY SEMINAR - December 12 - 13, 2018 Export Administration Regulations (EAR) Jurisdiction & Classification: The Order of Review Shipping & Licenses China Military Catch-All Rule Reexports Office of Foreign Assets Control Regulations (OFAC) Technical Data & Software Encryption Controls Export Control Reform: Adjusting & Updating Practices Export Enforcement Issues & Effective Export Compliance Sanctions Changes & Evolving Controls on Russia

    CTTSO Industry Day

CTTSO MISSION The CTTSO identifies and develops capabilities to combat terrorism and irregular adversaries and to deliver these capabilities to DoD components and interagency partners through rapid research and development, advanced studies and technical innovation, and provision of support to U.S. military operations. ABOUT CTTSO's Industry Day is an opportunity for industry, academia, government labs -- any entity that can conduct business with the U.S. Government and has an interest in submitting bids -- to discuss draft requirements that will form our FY 2020 research and development portfolio. This event is the only opportunity for participants to have face-to-face discussions with CTTSO about FY 2020 requirements. Feedback received from the discussion and exchange of information during this event will help CTTSO clarify and refine requirements for the final broad agency announcement that will be released in January 2019. ...FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS EVENT WILL BE FREE TO ATTEND... That being the case: Participants may only attend the morning or afternoon session. Both sessions are the same. Participants are limited to two per business unit. If your business unit has a compelling reason to send more personnel, please contact Jesenia Vigil before registering your staff. We cannot guarantee your request will be approved. If you registered and can no longer attend, please email Jesenia Vigil so others can participate. The fate of future events will be based on the results of this one. Let's make this fair for everyone so we can continue to offer this event for free! NO walk-in registrations. WHAT TO EXPECT THE DAY OF? After checking in, the time is yours to talk to CTTSO Program Managers and staff about requirements published in the draft BAA. The morning and afternoon session will include a 45-minute briefing that will: Provide an overview about CTTSO, Explain broad agency announcements and rules of engagement during the solicitation period, Provide an overview on BIDS (BAA Information Delivery System), and Explain how we help companies transition technologies developed under the CTTSO portfolio to commercial successes. These briefings will be held once each session with limited seating. Briefers will be available all day to answer your questions. The briefings will also be released in advance with the draft BAA on November 15, 2018 for those that would prefer to spend their time talking to Program Managers and staff about the draft requirements. TIPS FOR SUCCESS Come prepared. Read the draft BAA before coming to Industry Day. It is the sole reason CTTSO releases a draft. Send the right people. Technical people who understand the requirements and can ask constructive questions. No solicitation. This is an event to solely discuss the requirements as presented in the draft BAA. Please do not bring an iPad to show what your company can offer. Wait until the final BAA is released and submit your solution in BIDS! *This event is not affiliated with NDIA.
