CAE awarded contract from Boeing to develop additional P-8A operational flight trainer for Royal Air Force
Tampa, Florida, USA, May 13, 2019 – (NYSE: CAE; TSX: CAE) – On the eve of the International Training and Education Conference (ITEC), Europe's largest show for military training and simulation, CAE announced that Boeing has ordered simulator hardware for an additional P-8A operational flight trainer (OFT) for the United Kingdom Royal Air Force (RAF).
This follows a contract award last year for CAE to design and manufacture the hardware for the first P-8A OFT for the RAF as well as a P-8I OFT for the Indian Navy.
In addition, CAE developed and delivered a P-8 operational flight trainer integration asset, which is used by Boeing as an engineering development tool to test and validate aircraft and simulator upgrades for the United States Navy, Royal Australian Air Force, and other international customers.
“We are pleased to continue supporting Boeing on the development of P-8 training systems for the international customers acquiring this advanced maritime patrol aircraft,” said Ray Duquette, President and General Manager, CAE USA. “The United Kingdom and India will now join the U.S. Navy and Australia in leveraging high-fidelity synthetic training as part of their overall P-8 training curriculum.”
The P-8 OFTs for the RAF and Indian Navy will be similar to the P-8A OFTs that CAE and Boeing have already developed for the U.S. Navy and Royal Australian Air Force. CAE designs and manufactures the P-8 OFT hardware to Level D standards, the highest qualification for flight simulators. CAE also provides the 737-800 OFT software baseline and simulation-based software lab environment that is used for the P-8 OFT development and integration tasks. CAE then delivers the simulators to Boeing, who designs, installs and integrates software specific to the P-8 aircraft.
The P-8A OFTs for the RAF are scheduled for delivery to RAF Base Lossiemouth in Scotland in 2021. The P-8 OFT for the Indian Navy specifically representing the Indian Navy's P-8I variant is scheduled for delivery to India Naval Station (INS) Rajali in 2021.

Marshall Aerospace and Defence signs new multi-million-pound support contract for Bangladesh C-130J fleet
Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group has signed a new multi-million-pound contract with the Bangladesh Air Force to support additional C-130J aircraft purchased from the UK Ministry of Defence. This new multi-year contract follows on from the landmark contract signed in May 2018 and will see Marshall provide total support to the entire Bangladesh Air Force C-130J fleet. Marshall will deliver aircraft maintenance, logistics support, including the provision of spare parts and ground support equipment for establishing local capabilities, as well as engineering services to ensure the effective operation of the entire fleet. The company will also carry out critical capability enhancement modifications to the avionics equipment and provide a passenger transport capability, as well as in-country technical support to the operator for an initial period, along with specific technical services to support the longer-term sustainment of the fleet. This new support contract has been signed in accordance with a Government-to-Government agreement for the sale of an additional batch of former Royal Air Force C-130J aircraft from the UK MoD to the Bangladesh Air Force. Nammo signs major ammunition contract with Sweden
April 16, 2020 - Nammo has signed a contract with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration for delivery of small caliber ammunition worth SEK 670 million. Covering deliveries from 2020-22, the contract builds on a framework agreement signed in 2017, and will enable to Swedish Armed Forces to strengthen its levels of training and readiness. ”We are honored that the Swedish Armed Forces have placed their trust in us as their primary supplier of small caliber ammunition. Customers like Sweden accept only the best, and also have some very specific requirements that we have to fulfil, so in our view this is a major achievement by Nammo's product and manufacturing teams,” said Reijo Bragberg, Nammo's Executive Vice President for Small and Medium Caliber Ammunition. This contract is the second issued under the 2017 framework agreement, and covers six different ammunition types, both for training and combat. Going forward, Nammo is looking to expand its cooperation with the Swedish government in line with the strategic partnerships it has developed with both of Sweden's Nordic neighbors.
