    Canadian Armed Forces conclude humanitarian assistance operation in Palu, Indonesia

    October 25, 2018 – Ottawa, ON – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces The Canadian Armed Forces has concluded Operation RENAISSANCE – Indonesia, a part of Canada's humanitarian assistance efforts in Palu, Indonesia. Over the course of the 14-day operation, at the request of the government of Indonesia, a Royal Canadian Air Force CC-130J Hercules transported and delivered Canadian relief items and provided a tactical airlift capability to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian supplies in earthquake and tsunami affected areas. A total of 121,867 kilograms of supplies was airlifted and delivered. Supplies consisted of food, water, shelter kits and other miscellaneous humanitarian assistance equipment. Canada was one of 21 countries, and non-governmental organizations active in the area to support Indonesia following the devastating September 29 Sulawesi earthquakes and resulting tsunami.     PAL Aerospace Awarded Heavy Maintenance Contract for Royal Canadian Air Force CT-142 Fleet

    ST. JOHN'S, July 17, 2019 /CNW/ - PAL Aerospace is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract to provide heavy maintenance services for the Royal Canadian Air Force's CT-142 Dash-8 Fleet. The contract covers an initial four-year period and includes opportunities for PAL Aerospace to earn contract extensions that increase the life of the agreement to seven years. "PAL Aerospace appreciates this new opportunity to continue building our relationship as a trusted partner of the Royal Canadian Air Force," said PAL Aerospace Senior Vice-President of Business Development John Turner. Flown by the 402 Squadron, the CT-142 is used to train Air Combat Systems Operators and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operators from the Royal Canadian Air Force and other Air Forces from around the world. Designed and produced in Canada, the CT-142 is a conversion of the twin turboprop Dash-8 airliner modified to include a suite of on-board training computers and a large radar system.
