At Aéro Montréal, we are committed to protecting your personal information. That is why, when we collect, use and distribute our clients’ and users’ personal information, our practices are framed by our Privacy policy. This policy was created in accordance with the laws of Québec and of Canada governing the protection of privacy and personal information.

This policy applies to any Platform, as such a term is defined in our Terms and conditions. This Privacy policy can be amended at any time and without notice to reflect changes in our services, technological advances and developments of a legal nature. We may add, change or remove parts of this Privacy policy as we see fit. We therefore encourage you to periodically review our Privacy policy. We modify the policy’s date after each new update to indicate that amendments have been made.

Any mention of the “website” in this Privacy policy refers to www.sdquebec.ca.

Collection of information on the Platforms

To use certain aspects or special functions of our Platforms, you must provide us with some personal information, such as your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, username and password, as applicable.

Non-personal information – Non-personal information is information that cannot be used to identify you as an individual. The personal information collected and used by Aéro Montréal when you use the Platforms does not include collective information (data that is relevant to a group or a category of products, services or clients, from which the identity of individual clients has been omitted). For example, information on the way you use a product or service can be collected and combined with information on the way other people use the same product or service, but no personal information will be included in the final data.

Aéro Montréal may also collect collective information on the way its clients use the Platforms. Collective information regarding the use of the Platforms helps us understand trends and the needs of users, as well as introduce new features. This information can also be used to determine our customer base’s geographic allocation.

When you use the Platforms, we reserve the right to collect certain non-personal information such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, your Internet provider’s IP address, the date and time at which you have accessed the Platform, the Internet address or website that has led you to our site, the operating system you use and the content you have downloaded on the website. This information is aggregated and preserved under an anonymous and depersonalized form that does not allow for your identification, and is used for website, statistical and system administration purposes, as well as in the improvement of these functions.

Aéro Montréal may collect technical information on your IP address, your browser type, the web addresses of the sites through which you were referred, as well as your path to its website.

Does Aéro Montréal share your information?

In the normal course of business, we may share your personal information, as required, within our company, with our affiliated companies and with third parties (such as agents, proxies, service providers) that act in our name, as permitted by law. Aéro Montréal may also communicate personal information to third parties in the context of the sale, transfer or other similar shift of the company, in which case the third parties will be made to sign a confidentiality agreement and abide by the terms and conditions of this Privacy policy.

We may choose to work with third-party service providers to complete technical or administrative tasks, process and store data, send out advertisements to those that request it, handle online payments or host and administer one or several of our sites. The personal information that is communicated to the Service providers is limited to the information needed for them to provide the service. Aéro Montréal asks of companies that have access to personal information that they sign an agreement beforehand ensuring that they will keep such information confidential and safe, and prohibiting them from using it for non-authorised purposes.

Aéro Montréal may hire Service providers for cloud computing services. Cloud computing provides services that are hosted on networks located on remote servers, which allow individuals and companies to use software and hardware that is operated by third parties, including online email, business applications and file storage services.

The Service providers have implemented policies and processes guaranteeing the privacy of the information that is entrusted to them and its proper safeguard at all times. As of the date of this Policy, our cloud computing Service providers process and store data information in Canada. However, the storage location may change.

If the Service providers offer services from other countries, your personal information may be processed and stored in these countries, and the governments, courts of law, regulatory agencies and law enforcement agencies of such countries may be eligible to have your personal information communicated to them by legal ordinance. Aéro Montréal has taken precautions to prevent any fraud related to the use of your information on our website.

Legal disclosure – Aéro Montréal may disclose your information as is permitted or required by law. For example, a court of law or other person or entity with jurisdiction may require us to provide such information. If you have valid reason to believe that your information could be used in the context of unlawful or inappropriate activity investigations, we will disclose the information to the police or any other law enforcement organism, or to the appropriate investigative entity.

How does Aéro Montréal protect your information?

The file that contains your personal information will be stored on our servers and will only be accessible to our employees and those of our authorized agents, proxies and service providers that require it to perform their duties and functions. Aéro Montréal takes the necessary measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access. We follow appropriate safeguard procedures and apply current security standards so as to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use and disclosure. For example, electronic records are stored on limited-access secure servers and electronic data is stored on a file-encrypted system; we employ technical tools such as firewalls and passwords, and we make sure our employees are well-trained in the importance of maintaining the security and privacy of personal data.

SSL protocol – Our Platforms use encryption technology, such as Secure Sockets Layer (“SSL” or “TLS”), to protect your personal information during the transfer of your data.

Aéro Montréal will never send you unsolicited communications in which it asks you to update your credentials.

Even though we do not assume any responsibility regarding the theft, inappropriate use, unauthorized disclosure, loss, modification or destruction of your data at the hands of a third party, we make sure to take reasonable steps to prevent such situations. Despite our diligence, no system is completely infallible, and it is with this in mind that you choose to provide us with your information. Notwithstanding the security measures employed by Aéro Montréal to make sure that third parties are incapable of accessing your personal information by way of the Platforms, the complete online confidentiality and security of your information cannot be guaranteed to this day. Online communications can be intercepted, lost or modified.
